Bad Luck With Restaurants
I have bad luck when I go to restaurants.
Something goes wrong 98% of the time whether it’s bad food, cold food, NO food*, bad service, no service, somebody at the table gets the wrong food or the baby at the next table has a crappy diaper…
I’m telling ya, it’s ALWAYS something.
I was serious about the *no food comment. I went to KFC one time and they had run out of chicken! At KFC!!! “Kentucky Fried CHICKEN!!! I’m totally serious, they ran out!
I’m not even kidding, I couldn’t even make stuff like this up! I have family members who would rather not go and dine out with me…
I should probably write a book!
Now that you have a brief background, my sister took me to Red Lobster for lunch yesterday and everything was going well. Aside from forgetting to bring butter to dab on the cheese & garlic biscuits we’d been given to nibble on while we waited for the main course, the waiter was prompt, courteous and very professional. When the food was served, it was hot and delicious.
I’m sitting there thinking to myself that things were going pretty good and started to wonder if anything was going to go wrong…
I needn’t have worried. It wasn’t long in coming.
The waiter stopped by midway through the meal to see if we needed anything. “Oh yes!” my sister cried, “could you please bring us some more biscuits?” pointing to the empty biscuit basket. (She LOVES Red Lobster’s garlic & cheese biscuits!)
Well it just so happened that her beverage container just so happened to be in the exact place she was trying to point and when she pointed at the biscuit basket, she just so happened to knocked over the aforementioned beverage container and I got a lap full of soda.
Thus ended what had heretofore been a perfect meal.
I wish I could tell you that it ended then and there but she managed to knock her glass of soda over again at the end of the meal and we never DID get any damn butter for our garlic & cheese biscuits!!!
Did I mention that it was the lunch rush and that we had been seated at the far end of the dining room? Yeah, in order to exit the premises I had to walk through a PACKED restaurant looking like I had just peed my pants…
